The Desperados Motorcycle Club are known for their torrid rock and blues nights. From the stacked up Marshall amplifier stage, to the 60's rock'n'roll nights to Gerry Joe Weise's fireball performance, the 287 club has never ceased to prove themselves as being apt for rock entertainment. The 287 decoration consists of a few hundred mini electric Epiphone guitars in different colors, hung high with other rock'n'roll memorabilia. The huge 2 level space has a couple of drinking counters, the sound-man's P.A. table and a large stage, all bordering on being posh and comfortable.
The first group, Boxer, were promoting their new album, in a mixed bag of originals and influences by AC/DC and Trust. Their local fans gave great support, bringing the venue of hundreds of people to sweat, making things just right for Gerry Joe Weise to step out on stage.
From the very first blues riffs by the Australian guitarist, notes from the 3 Kings, Freddie, Albert and B.B., could be heard resounding the walls of the motorcycle club. Astounded faces gasped before hearty applause, while Gerry Joe Weise pulled out his stage antics of playing guitar behind his back and on the floor. He performed new compositions from his latest album "Bushman Boogie" on the Musea Records label, especially the lively "Dreamtime Shuffle" on slide guitar which was well sung. Uncle John Turner longtime drummer for Johnny Winter was scheduled to tour with Gerry Joe Weise, but due to a subvention mischance, Turner was replaced at the last minute by Keith Boyce ex session-drummer for Rod Stewart and Elton John.
The 3rd part of the concert was set with a super jam session. Where in company with Gerry Joe Weise, the cream of Paris' musicians joined the stage. There was the well known Nono on guitar and his bass player from the famous rock band, Trust. Agostini's Drum School director who has played with Stevie Ray Vaughan, took to the skins. Members from Boxer and other guitarists and vocalists joined Gerry Joe for a merry full set of jamming, where songs from the Rolling Stones, the Kinks and others, were respected in their original song format. Gerry Joe Weise orchestrated the jam session so well, that the people attending the concert, had three bands for the price of two !
