When he was 17 and 18 during the 1970's in Sydney, he guest supported bands AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, The Angels, Dragon and Midnight Oil at venues like the Bondi Lifesaver and Cheaquer's, with bands The Class and Siren. At 18 he joined the progressive Corroboree that had drummer Craig Collinge (ex Manfred Mann) and keyboardist Cezary Skubiszewski (ex Alexis Korner, film composer "Two Hands"). In 1980 Gerry Joe Weise took a big step forward and moved to Europe, living in France, Germany and Switzerland until 1999, before moving back to Australia. In 2000, he wrote two songs for Nabarlek (Indigenous Live Band Of The Year Award 2005), for their 2nd album "Bininj Manborlh". He has released the solo albums : 1994 "Live In Paris", 1996 "A Letter To Jimi", 1999 "Bushman Boogie", 2005 "Sydney-Paris Blues". Throughout his many European tours he has jammed with B.B.King, John Lee Hooker, Albert Collins, Noel Redding and Eric Clapton. His trios have had musicians from Mick Taylor, Roy Buchanan, Savoy Brown, Tower Of Power, Ravi Shankar, Otis Grand and Big Ed Sullivan. He has guest supported Ray Charles, B.B.King, Iggy Pop & The Stooges, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, The Yardbirds, Eric Clapton, The Scorpions, Pat Metheny, Noel Redding, Luther Allison, John McLaughlin, Canned Heat, Bob Brozman, Joe Louis Walker, Dave Hole, Deborah Coleman, Matt 'Guitar' Murphy, Jerry McCain, Luther 'Houserocker' Johnson, Billy Branch, Van Wilks, Mark Hummel, Nine Below Zero, Maurice McKinnies, Eddie & The Hot Rods, the Chicago Blues Festival Tour and The San Francisco Blues Festival Tour in Europe.
